Seasons of Colour

Today, on my walk, I stopped to look at the flower beds. Some blooming. Some empty. Some cleared away because their season ended. And God whispered — this is life.

Some days overflow with colour… joy and gratitude. Other days feel stripped back… heavy with questions, losses, and the weight of what I can’t control.

But as I stood there — watching birds glide over the pond, grass resting under the morning light — peace settled in. Because the birds aren’t anxious. The grass isn’t thriving. And Jesus said, “Your Father feeds them… how much more will He care for you” (Matthew 6:26).

Life is a vapour. Flowers bloom, flowers fade (James 4:14, Isaiah 40:8). But the Gardener never stops tending the soil.

So today, I breathe. I pray. I release the weight. “Be anxious for nothing… but in everything, make your requests known to God” (Philippians 4:6).

The season may look bare now, but who knows when the next splash of colour will break through. Trust the One who brings life from the soil.
